New bars

Ive been seriously lacking up the updates. Since I last posted, Ive done a few new neat things on my bike. Before I go into it, I have to say.... Lowbrow Customs is possibly the best company Ive ever had the pleasure of dealing with. My old man got me a sweet set of frisco bars for Christmas this past year. After dealing with some shit and broken promises, I began dismantling to put the new bars on. I got everything off the old bars, and then found out the bars my Dad got are 1 inch, and my little Yamaha needs 7/8s. I immediately emailed Lowbrow, and Kyle emailed me back in about 20 minutes. After many emails back and forth, we decided to go with some really sweet Z-bars. He told me I needed to send the old ones back first, and he would send me my new ones. Well, the economy being the way it is, I couldnt afford to mail my frisco bars back right away. After a few weeks, I finally had some extra money in my wallet and I mailed them back. I sent Kyle an email, only to find out that I took too long, and the Z-bars were gone. I went with my second choice, some nice window bars, and prayed for the best. Kyle did really awesome by me, and since my original choice was sold out from under me, he picked up the shipping for the new window bars. About 3 days later and I had my sweet new bars. About 3 hours and a nice long ride with Matty J later, my new window bars were on! Again, big thanks to Kyle and everyone at Lowbrow Customs for really taking care of me.

My new bars, all unwarpped in their shiny goodness

The old bars are now completely taken off

And heres the finished product

Ann and I saw these a few weeks back when we were walking around New Paltz. Ive been dying to put them up, and now I finally have an excuse to

Crazy tony and some new flare

Yesterday after class a couple of us took a ride to monicas friend jd's house, for some advice on electrical and he made me a cool celtic knot to hang my bell from. On the way there I was finally able to get some riding pictures of our crazy friend tony. Tonys a reall cool guy with a huge heart, hes helped me out more then once, his bike is just like him short loud and colorfull. You ever wanna have a crazy night take tony out with you, he is really good at getting rowdy. Special thanks to jd for my new flare.

Breaks my heart a little

This school is filled with so many bikes with potential that get mangled by all the students here. The thing that really kills me though are all the engines the school had just on display! Student services had a shinny twin cam siting on the wall for the looks, the worst part is since they are a publicly traded company they can't sell any parts. Breaks my heart a little

Bike of the day

I have'nt done a bike of the day in awhile and as soon as I saw this bike I knew it would be a great one start with. The engine is out of an 81 ironhead and the rolling chassis is from flyrite choppers. The owner nate tells me shes in primer now but will soon be getting an awesome metalflake paint job so stay tuned ill have pictures up once she gets painted.

New seat

I went to coltons last night after class in hopes of fixing the short my bike had so I could stop spending money on fuses. While we had my rear fender we tried my mock up a new rear fender off of a softail but it wasnt wide enough unfortunately. While putting my bike back together I thought id see if the seat off of matts rigid cb750 chassis would fit on my bike and luckily it did and after making a deal with matt for it I can easily say it makes my bike look ten times better, the back of the seat fits great I just have to make something so the front stays in place for now a bungie chord will do. I cant wait to put my sissy bar back on,the new seat will realy compliment it, this prooves my point you can just put any seat on a bike. Special thanks to colton for staying up late and helping me out even though he had work and matt of course for selling me his seat.

Friday night wrenching

I went to Coltons friday night to change the oil in my bike. Colton got a little restless and pulled my sissy bar off and talked me into letting him paint it. I gave him the camera for awhile  while I was under my bike and his pictures came out pretty good, he's right the ratchet does look like a murder weapon. Ill post some pictures of my sissy bar once I pick it up from him tomorow.

Start of a Great Season

So I missed the first good day to go riding. Big deal. It snowed two days later anyway. Barbs bike got covered and we all got a good laugh. This last weekend was an even better weekend if you ask me. Was able to drag my ass out of bed around ten in the morning. Not so bad for a guy who doesn't wake up till 1 o'clock most days.
Got to the folks place around eleven. Just in case you're wondering, the folks place is where our beasts were hibernating for the Winter. Once they were fired up Matty J, the Old Man, and myself of course headed down to the closest gas station to fuel up and other minor tune ups before we hit the open road. Right now is where I say "Fuck Yeah!" I love filling my tank for only eight bucks. Going so far for so little kicks major ass.
Back roads are great for a mid sixty weather kind of day. But nothing beats jumping on the highway and giving it all she's got. If that doesn't get blood flowing than you are one emotionally inhibited person. Matty J got his first bit of highway that weekend. Wasn't much, but I'm sure he enjoyed it.
First pit stop was at smoke shop slash gas station. And yes, I wrote slash instead of using the actual slash. Picked up some cigars and we were about to go and got a call from another Bastard. Pete said Josh was around and wanted to hit up McCabes for some pool and hanging out. We mounted up and were soon on our way. It was a slow afternoon, with a couple of locals at the bar and our two friends at the pool table. A nice little topper that afternoon was that Pete and I were able to get a free game that afternoon. After a couple of games with the guys, Matty J and the Old Man had to hit the road.
I stuck around with Pete, Josh, and now Eric had joined use. We decided to go to the park and knock around some golf balls. After that short lived fun, I hope back on my lady and went back to the folks place. Had to pick up my bike cover. Rain was in the upcoming future and rust is not an option on my baby. I got to the folks place and the Old Man was working on his bike. His hazards shorted out. He was trying like a son of a bitch to fix it. He must of been working on it for at least an hour trying to get it. He was so proud that he didn't give up, he called me after I left to inform me he got it working. Way to go Old Man.
That was a good day. And to top the whole thing off, my mustache stayed in peak condition all day. Even hitting 70 plus mile an hour this bad boy didn't move. Fuck yeah! The picks up top are the Old Man, Matty J, and myself. The second one is of yours truly, Drew Stache lighting up a stogy. Enjoy everyone.

Yesterday we decided to spontaneous and head to Alice Cooper's resturant in downtown phoenix called Cooperstown. Apparently Alice Cooper really love baseball and made this cool themed resturant. All though in all honesty it couldn't hold a flame to the reall cooperstown in new york where my family and used to go all the time growing up. Either way it was a cool resturant filled with a ton of sports and music memorbillia. We orded "the loaded big unit" which is a 22inch hot dog with all the toppings you can think of, relish, jalepanos, sauerkraut, cheese, diced tomatoes, and chilli. It was ginormous but delicious.

Went over to coltons real quick after class cause I wanted to see how his sporty was coming along. He still needs a throttle cable for it so in the mean time he decided to throw his mustang tank from his suzuki 750 project on it and rattle can it with some new paint. I dig it alot and I cant wait till he can start running this thing. The last picture is the before shot.

And it just keeps piling....

I started out the day by trying to disassemble the entire front of my bike. I decided to start off with removing the speedo and tac, since it'll look silly with two big boobs sitting in between my new z-bars. After lots of cursing, I finally got the stupid gauges off, although I cant get the indicator light housing thingy off until I get to my old mans for some more tools. I wanted to start her up, because she hasnt ran for a few weeks, and smelled something burning. As I attempted to keep trying to start her, I saw some sparking coming from the battery terminal. Upon further examination, I discovered the screw must of come loose quite long ago, and the little bastard must of gotten really hot, because it melted the entire terminal. So bad in fact, and you might not be able to see it in the picture, some of the metal liquidized, and then recooled into a neat little puddle.

Bike of the day

I saw this cool virago at the bike show a few weeks back. If my memory serves me right its an 86 750. I still miss my virago but not as much as my old lady (she reminds me whenever she gets a chance). I always had plans for mine but didnt do much aside from drilling out the stock baffles, which is why I cant wait to see what barbs does to her.

Another enjoyable weekend.

I received a text around 2:30 Saturday morning from Monica telling me that we are going on a ride to prescot. After i talked peter into joining us we drank some more and ended up getting somewhere in the ball park of two hours of sleep. Peter and i got up at nine and headed over to my place so we could get ready. We met up with everyone at the dennys down the road from my apartment complex and after gas getting Darrell ordering some food and just general lolly gagging we finally hit the road. On our way up to prescot peter wanted to show us a cool saloon so we stopped about 30 miles into our trip. After we all hung out there for awhile we decided to head to hideaway instead of going all the way to prescot, so we turned back around. The hideaway was fun there was a product toss and a cool live blues band. Peter threw in the towel early due to the previous night catching up to his body. After hanging out at the hideaway till the party was over we headed across the street to Harold's, a nice bar/restaurant which was pleasant cause we gotta to eat on the porch and watch the great scenery and all the bikes from bike week. While at dinner tony decided he needed to conquer the mountain closet to the restaurant so a bunch of decided to climb it, which im glad we did cause the view was awesome. Next we split up so i could head home and feed banksy while everyone who was riding in cars went to the buckcherry show. After walking banksy and a quick change we hit the road to meet everybody at westwood. I'm normally not a buckcherry fan but i had "what the hell why not" syndrome all weekend. Taylor and i tried to watch the show but the huge tent they were playing in was more like a huge oven so we decided to go look around at all the remaining vendors instead, which is where we got to meet dozer one of the biggest dogs Ive ever seen! Once the show was over we met up with everyone to say our goodbyes and went our separate ways, most of the group went to the bar while Taylor Cody and myself went back to my place to chill due to Taylor and Cody not being 21 and my general want to just realize and let my body recover. In all honesty im a little mad at myself for not enjoying bike week sooner then the second to last night. Theres a couple pictures from darrell and taylor in the mix. to
