MMI Bike show 3/26

Saturday MMI had its 11th annual student/staff bike show and they had a great turn out. There were a bunch of vendors there like sucker punch sally, ramjet and an assortment of local powder coaters, pinstripers, and custom bike builders. Motor mouth mike was there doing all types of games and challenges to win free stuff, while anyone who interested in going to MMI took a tour of the campus. As far as the bikes go...as im sure you can see there was a lot of stiff competition. I really like the Indian outlaw bike, I didn't take enough pictures but it was a very well done theme bike and the font used was identical to the Indian Larry font and the air filter was made to look like a tee pee. My favorite had to be the rigid evo bobber with the apes and white walls I didn't win anything, well at least for my bike I did win some cool fender struts from sucker punch sally but ill be ready for next year show.

Arizona was the best thing to ever happen to my bike

In the almost three months I've been here I have had the opportunity to do so much to my bike, not to mention all the people I've met that help me. Crazy Chris is no exception he let me and Colton use his welder to make my sissy bar and this friday he helped me perfect my sissy bar and put on my fork gators. Thanks to Ramjet i was able to find these babies locally to instead of having to order them offline. Crazy Chris is in the process of finishing up his cb750 chop which has been named Screaming demon. I cant wait for it to be done.

Bike of the day

Colton just his hands on this sweet ironhead, and he made out like a bandit. Now I wont act like the sporty is showroom condition or anything but he got a rare fxrt fairing along with this sweet 3/4 helmet vintage 1971, that just needs a new liner. The sporty needs a carb but colton got it working with our buddy peters yz-250 carb, and as im sure you can see it needs a kickstand. Stay tuned for some pictures from saturdays student/staff bike show I have been slacking but it will be up soon. If anybody has any ideas on how to re line my sweet new helmet feel free to let me know.

Bike of the day

I saw this bike at the gas station before school. I got a chance to talk to the owner before he left for class. This is a 2007 softail nightrain, since he has had it he chopped the rear fender, put on a cool springer front end, made some custom zbars and got the old school pinstriping done plus a lot more im sure ( we didnt talk to long since we both had to head to class). It was a pleasent suprise to find out this was a nightrain because most nightrain owners just put drag bars on and call it a day, so it was cool to see a commited build. Well done.

A gem from the weekend

Chris and his lady brooke attempted to take the ride with us to the dice party but as you know I ran into some issues on the way. I snapped this on the way to meet everyone at coltons house.

Bike of the day

I went over to the theory building to meet chris the other day after school only to find that chris had already left. While there I did bump into the only of this sportster 883 low, its gotta be one of the best looking 883s ive seen.

Ohhhh Mother Nature....

Yous a bitch. Like a big dummy, I forgot what March is like in New York. One day it could be 60 degrees, the next you could have two inches of snow. Today is no different. I was able to take my bike for a little spin yesterday, and like the asshole I am, I forgot to put my bike back in the garage. Needless to say, when I woke up this morning I was shocked to find this..... Tell me again why I didnt follow Whips to Arizona????

King of craigslist

I know it may seem cocky but I swear im the king of craigslist. While buming it at coltons playing ping pong I found a rigid rolling chassis on craigslist for matts cb750 project. It was a great find and came with some extra parts including a sweet 4 into 1 exhaust. After haning out for a while we tried to make it to to the dice party but ran into some issues when a friends petcock fell out of his tank on the ride there, and I was having throttle issues. We stopped at a friends house on the way to borrow some tools to try and remedy the situation. While working on our bikes we saw an awesome triumph in our friends garage that was featured in the horse. After everyone was fixed up (or at least good enough to drive it for the night we headed out. Unfortunately I had to split off from the group to head home to take care of some things because we were having some friends over. From what im told the party was really good. I was pretty bummed I couldnt make it to the dice party, but i'm crossing my fingers for the next one.

Ripping around before school

Went for ride with chris today before class, he had a clip I need for my headlight and he seemed interested to see some pictures of him on his motorsickle. It also helped me cause he showed me a different way to get school with dips and turns, I dont get to scrape my pegs as much as I used to back home so roads where I can are always fun to find.

Saint patricks day!

Yesterday was saint pattys day and like any self respecting irish man I switched around my shedule to insure that I would be able to raise hell all night. A couple of us switched to the morning class so we could see flogging molly in tempe. The show was amazing despite us not being sneak in colton over the fence. I was a little dissapointed they didnt play kiss my irish ass but I danced my ass off either way. Unfortunately for me my phone died before we got to the front so pictures arent that great, sorry everyone. After the show we headed to coltons for some car bombs and eventually made it back to my place just in time for our bodys to start shutting off. Hope everyone enjoyed their saint pattys day cause I damn sure did.

A gem from the weekend

I took this over the weekend while we were riding through the rich area of town with grass. Colton misses grass almost as much as mr

One Hell Of A Weekend

Ive been slacking lately as far as posting goes, but for good reason. I took a ton of quality pictures this weekend so decided instead of doing different posts i was gonna do one big post about this weekend. Originally we supposed to go to a swap meet but Colton had confused the days and found out the swap meet was Sunday. Despite finding out Coltons memory is about as useful as a poopy flavored lolly pop, we decided to go for a ride anyway. First it was off to love cycles (you can check out his craftsmanship here a really cool shop in phoenix where the owner is an expert in everything vintage H-D and Triumph. His shop was really awesome, the man is swimming in parts. He has had bikes hes built in the horse not to mention all of the customers he has all over the world, yet had no problem letting us bullshit with him in his shop for a bit. After a hanging out for a bit we decided to hit the road and head to Go Kat Go, a really cool local antique shop. Go Kat Go was a real nice place, they are almost of combination of antique shop and vintage chopper culture shop. We hung out there for awhile and explored some of the cool stuff, but had to cut it short since i had to run home and take Mary out on a date for her 22nd birthday which was very pleasant. Sunday i headed to Coltons to meet everybody for a ride to the swap meet at arrowhead Harley. The ride there was great, we were in the rich part of town where they can afford one of the things i really miss while living in the desert...grass. I bought my front fender down with us in hopes of trading it for either some new grips or a pair of fork boots. The swap meet was some what of a bust since there were only a few tables, probally due to the fact that ramjet was having a customer appreciation day. Once i search the few tables there i was lucky enough to find the grips i wanted and traded my front fender for them. After enjoying that area for awhile Colton Chayne and Taco headed to ramjet (lucky for us colton took some pictures while he was there which will be coming up soon) while i had to head back home to move a new craigslist found couch that we got for free, and a table we found on craigslist also all thanks to Darrell for helping us move everything in his sweet van. After getting all settled with our new furniture i went to Chris's for a little bit to put on my new grips. Once i got my new grips put on Monica, Tony, Greg and Cody met me at our apartment and we took a ride out to Greasewood Flat a pretty cool outdoor cowboy bar. Alex met us there once he was done working on his chopper. After enjoying the live bands and cool scenery we hit the road to get rest after a fun weekend. Unfortunately Alex took a spill on the way home and broke his foot, heel up Alex we cant wait till your on the road again.
